Ordinary?

In the grand scheme of things, it’s pretty easy to see ourselves as just another ordinary person, doing ordinary things, in an ordinary town with other ordinary people. Trust me, I’ve been there. In all honesty, how could we not see ourselves that way? There are celebrities winning Grammy’s and 13 year old’s going viral on the internet while we just sit at home watching them. The worst part is, we’re okay with it. We settle for living a mundane life, full of monotony and uniform routine. Now hey, I’m all for watching a good Criminal Minds marathon or trying my best to guess the next answer on Jeopardy but I can’t help but think, is this it? Is this what we were created for? And for a split second, I wallow in my self pity and think, “Woe is me, my life has no variety.” But then I take a step back, reevaluate the situation, and nearly slap myself for thinking something so ridiculous.

WE WERE CREATED BY A GOD THAT SPOKE THE UNIVERSE INTO EXISTENCE, THAT SPLIT THE RED SEA, AND THAT LOVED US SO MUCH HE SENT HIS ONLY SON TO SAVE US ALL.

We were made for sooo much more than this. The God that we serve, is the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the Heavenly Father himself; we were created to glorify Him. We were created to worship, praise, sing, dance, and ultimately love Him. We are so far from ordinary, it’s unbelievable. It doesn’t matter what celebrities are doing, or what’s going viral because we’ve got access to the best award show there has ever been or will ever be; skip the Oscar’s, Grammy’s, Golden Globe’s, Academy Award’s, I’ve got a ticket to Heaven and that’s the most incredible award I could ever receive.

We are so blessed, and He is so worthy of our praise; don’t just sit around and let Him go unnoticed, spread the good news because we are not ordinary people, we are sons and daughters of the King.

“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ”

Romans 10:17

Sincerely,

Tay.

  1. I often find myself skimming over words as I lose interest in their meaning when I read. This article captured me from the first sentence and left me wanting to read more. It had the perfect balance of modern day life while capturing the traditional light of our savior. This is a truly beautiful piece that leaves a strong message for readers. It has perspective and lets the reader relate to real life. Wonderful job. This is a wonderful first blog and I cannot wait to read more from Tay.
